Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho tried to orchestrate a move away from Anfield during the summer window, but he was unsuccessful.
Barcelona were his desired club, and he later submitted a transfer request in the hope of persuading the Reds to sell.
The Merseyside outfit stood firm on their stance that Coutinho was not for sale, and they proved that by rejecting three bids from the Catalan giants.
The Express claims that the final offer was around £118m, but it was not enough to sway Liverpool, who will have the Brazilian in their ranks until January at least.
Spanish publication Sport has since reported that Coutinho is frustrated with his club for failing to sanction a move and could refuse to play in the Champions League as he does not want to hamper his chances of featuring for Barcelona in the competition ahead of a potential January transfer.
However, pictures taken on a flight back to the UK from South America appear to show Coutinho in a positive mood as he is snapped smiling for the camera.
The 25-year-old was on board a plane with teammate Roberto Firmino, as well as Manchester City’s Brazilian stars and Chelsea’s Willian.
Liverpool fans took to Twitter to give their reactions to the photo.
