Bruno Fernandes has equalled a record at Manchester United held by Cristiano Ronaldo after being named the club's Player of the Year.

Portuguese playmaker Fernandes, who is club captain at Old Trafford, has scooped that award in 2025. He previously landed the prestigious Sir Matt Busby POTY prize in 2020, 2021 and 2024.

Fernandes has become just the third player in United’s glittering history to claim that accolade on four occasions. David de Gea was the first, with four Player of the Year nods secured in the space of five years between 2014 and 2018.

Five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo emulated the Spanish goalkeeper following his return to England. His last success came in 2022, having previously been recognised as United’s top performer in 2004, 2007 and 2008.
United legends Eric Cantona, Roy Keane, Brian McClair, Wayne Rooney and Ruud van Nistelrooy are the only other players with multiple POTY wins to their name since the award was first handed out in 1988.

Fernandes was the runaway victor in 2025, with the 30-year-old midfielder posting 19 goals and 19 assists this season. Ivorian winger Amad Diallo finished second in the poll, with experienced defender Harry Maguire claiming third place.
