The Spanish full-back claimed that Real Madrid have not informed the players about Mbappe's impending arrival at the club, even though they reportedly reached a verbal agreement with the mercurial French attacker back in January. Caravajal, though, has welcomed the prospect of playing alongside the France captain, claiming that players of Mbappe and Barcelona star Lewandowski's stature help to elevate the standard of La Liga.

In an interview with , the defender said of Mbappe: "They haven’t told us anything. It seems that it is a possibility that he can come. In Madrid, the best have to come and he is one of the best. For the League and our football, it would be good, just like Lewandowski has gone to Barcelona."
When asked if the arrival of the star player will have any adverse effect on the dressing room atmosphere, the Real Madrid star said: "No jealousy, but the people who have been in the club for the longest time are in charge of everyone rowing in the same direction; that when one derails a little, grab him by the ear and put him on the track of our train."
