Musiala has been linked with a €100 million (£83m/$111m) move to Manchester City but Bayern are keen to extend his contract – which runs until 2026. As the Bavarians step up their efforts to keep the 21-year-old, president Hainer has gone on a charm offensive; perhaps to convince the German international to stay a while longer.

He told German publication : “We love Jamal Musiala and it’s clear he is a once in a century footballer. Obviously, our main mission is to extend his contract and keep him at Bayern for a long time."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Musiala is proving to be one of the most exciting youngsters in Europe, if not the world, off the back of his form for Bayern and Germany. If the Bavarians are to return to their former glory, the attacking midfielder will be a key part of that. However, they may need to put together a convincing pitch to persuade him to sign a new deal – else City and others may try and pounce.
