Nottingham Forest manager Aitor Karanka is interested in bringing in Middlesbrough pair Adam Clayton and Patrick Bamford, according to The Mirror.
What’s the word?
Karanka seems to be taking the comfortable approach when it comes to bringing in new players for the upcoming season.
This is the manager’s first summer window since taking over at the City Ground, and it seems that he is targeting players that he already knows.
The Mirror’s live blog claims that Forest are interested in signing Clayton and Bamford, both of whom played under Karanka during the coach’s time at Boro.

Jose Mourinho’s former assistant spent four years at the Riverside before leaving in 2017.
Do Forest have a chance of landing the pair?
It is highly unlikely that Boro boss Tony Pulis will allow both players to leave this summer.
Clayton has been a regular part of the midfield since his arrival at the club from Huddersfield Town in 2014.
Last season, the 29-year-old made 37 appearances in all competitions, including 32 in the Championship.
As for Bamford, he experienced a loan spell at Boro in the 2014-15 campaign and later joined them from Chelsea permanently in 2017.
During the most recent campaign, the 24-year-old netted 13 goals and created one assist in 44 appearances in all competitions.
There is no doubt that the pair would boost Forest’s team, but they may struggle to get deals for both over the line.
