Tuesday night is expected to be a tense one for both Liverpool and Manchester City as one of them will make it into the semi-finals of the Champions League.
At the moment it is advantage Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp’s men have a 3-0 lead from the first leg at Anfield.
The Reds’ attacking stars blitzed through City’s defence, with Mohamed Salah, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Sadio Mane getting on the scoresheet.
Guardiola’s men were unable to respond, and they now have a mountain to climb in order to progress.
City will have home comforts as the second leg will be held at the Etihad Stadium, but they will have to mentally pick themselves up after squandering an opportunity to wrap up the Premier League title in Saturday’s 3-2 defeat to Manchester United.
Prior to the match, Guardiola and midfielder Fernandinho faced the media in a press conference, and one of the comments certainly raised an eyebrow.
In a tweet posted by Liverpool Echo journalist James Pearce, Fernandinho suggested that Jurgen Klopp tends to instruct his team to play the long-ball approach.
Given that Liverpool tend to play attacking football and hunt in packs, this comment did not go down too well with supporters.
